Jared Hawkins Snares $6k Payday in Southern 50
Fairmont, West Virginia (07/18/13) – Jared Hawkins powered his #37 Rick Sturms Motorsports/Rocket Super Late Model to the $6,000 feature win in the 3rd Annual Southern 50 at Southern Ohio Speedway (Wheelersburg, Ohio) on Friday night!
Jared started his night by winning his heat race to earn the pole position for the 50 lap feature. As the finale went green Hawkins bolted to the lead and went on to lead all 50 laps on his way to the victory, which marked his fifth of the 2013 campaign! He was followed across the finish line by Josh McGuire, Tim Dohm, Devin Moran, and Delmas Conley.
“We just had a great car all night,” said Hawkins. “My crew and sponsors are really giving me an incredible piece right now. The next race can’t get here soon enough.”

This weekend the team will invade Elkins Raceway (Kerens, West Virginia) for a pair of big events. On Friday night the 3rd Annual Jim Hitt Memorial will be held, which posts a $5,000 top prize, while Saturday’s program will be headlined by the $10,000-to-win, 3rd Annual Richard Skidmore Memorial.
