Jared Hawkins Races to Sixth Win of 2013 with Elkins Triumph
Fairmont, West Virginia (07/23/13) – Jared Hawkins enjoyed another great weekend behind the wheel of his #37 Rick Sturms Motorsports/Rocket Super Late Model as he traveled to Elkins Raceway (Kerens, West Virginia) for a pair of special events with the ADRA Super Late Models and came away with his sixth victory of the 2013 campaign.
On Friday night the 3rd Annual Jim Hitt Memorial was held, which posted a $5,000 winner's check. With 25 entries on hand for the program Jared started his night by qualifying 2nd fastest, which left him starting 8th in the dash. After advancing to a 4th place finish he locked into the 4th starting spot for the feature event. As the race went green Hawkins began working his way forward, and on lap 9 he would overtake his younger brother, Jacob for the top spot, and never looked back on his way to the victory, which came over Dusty Hamrick, Jacob Hawkins, Austin Hubbard, and Davey Johnson. The win was his sixth of the season!
Saturday night found the winner's check increased to $10,000-to-win as the 3rd Annual Richard Skidmore Memorial was contested with 26 cars on hand to do battle. In time trials Hawkins registered the 8th fastest time before winning his heat race to lock into the 5th starting spot for the feature. During the course of the main event he advanced to a 2nd place finish behind race winner, Paul Wilmoth Jr. Mike Benedum, Mason Zeigler, and Davey Johnson rounded out the top five.

Jared is also proud to announce that he finished 3rd in the FANS Fund All-Star voting for the 26th Annual USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway on August 1st-3rd, so he will be attending the event for the second time due to the sponsorship that he will receive from the voting.
