Former FASTRAK Late Model Drivers Doing Well in NASCAR and Other Racing Series’ throughout the Country

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** July 23rd, 2013 FASTRAK PR

(Carnesville, Georgia) – Former FASTRAK Racing Series Dirt Late Model drivers from the past are currently doing very well in other types of racing including that of NASCAR Touring, K&N Pro Series, ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series and IZOD Indy Car Racing. FASTRAK Racing Series is building Champions and it shows season after season.

It really started at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2009. Upcoming star and son of Mike Dillon, Grandson of Richard Childress is making his way to his first dirt late model win. The grandstands were full as it was the first time RCR had brought back the black number 3 and a night no one would ever forget. 3 laps to go with young Austin Dillon in the lead, everyone in the stands was standing up with 3 fingers lifted in memory of their hero Dale Earnhardt Sr. As Dillon won the FASTRAK event, the crowd went crazy wild and everyone was in tears in victory lane including that of Richard Childress himself. As Childress proclaimed when asked about the nights events, “folks, this is real racing”. I think everyone in the stands that night agreed. NASCAR great Clint Boyer was on hand to congratulate Dillon as Boyer ran second to him that night.

Much the same in 2010 with Austin’s younger brother Ty Dillon as the next year he won the event again elated in victory lane at The Dirt Track in Charlotte. One of his first dirt late models wins too on a Touring level. Austin and Ty Dillon to this day when not competing on the NASCAR circuit love to return to the grass roots and get dirty, slinging it sideways. Both Dillon’s have won Championships in either/or ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR Touring levels.

Later came along Ryan Gifford of Tennessee as he set a new track record with FASTRAK and Wythe Raceway. Gifford won his first FASTRAK Touring event in 2009. (This was also his first dirt late model win too). Gifford in still driving for Joe Gibbs Racing as a development driver and making a chase of the 2013 NASCAR K&N East Pro Series Championship.

Young John King Jr. had raced with FASTRAK all over the Southeast United States then makes his way on to become the winner of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Race at Daytona International Speedway at the NexTera Energy Resources 250 in February of 2012. A Cinderella story for sure and we Americans love an underdog. Young John King might have been the underdog but in Daytona Beach FL, he showed them how good dirt late model racing made a driver. After top NASCAR contenders got impatient in the crazy world of “restrictor plate” racing, he missed the “BIG ONE” held on for two anxious Green-White-Checkered shootouts and went on to make history at SPEED-WEEKS 2012 at “The World Center of Racing”.

Dan Brode; When FASTRAK was in its second year, young Dan Brode came along and then started to make his way on the IZOD Indy Car Series in 2007 and tried two seasons competing to qualify for “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” the Indianapolis 500.

Chris Ferguson of Mt. Holly, NC participated in the FASTRAK SE Tour and is currently competing in the sister series of FASTRAK, the ULTIMATE Super Late Models. Ferguson still competes in FASTRAK events when the opportunity presents itself. He was the Inaugural ULTIMATE Series $15,000 Champion in 2011. To this day he also tries to compete year after year for the $100,000 Dirt Late Model DREAM and the WORLD 100 “The Grand-Daddy of Dirt Late Model Racing” all held at the prestigious ˝ mile Eldora Speedway which as host the FASTRAK Racing Series on a National level. The only crate late models series to compete at the Big E is FASTRAK.

Zack Mitchell of Enoree, SC came along through FASTRAK program, Mitchell since then has moved on to super late model racing with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series. Last year Mitchell came back to run some FASTRAK events and had a ton of fun.

2007 FASTRAK Grand National Champion William Thomas of AL won his title, the $50,000 check from FASTRAK and is currently campaigning a super late model for the last several years but never forgetting his $50,000 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP coming back to participate in crate late model events at different venues from time to time is a given for Thomas.

Our final mention is Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, PA finally after 3 tries won the FASTRAK Grand Nationals title in 2011 on a cold October night in Bulls Gap, TN at Volunteer Speedway. Still competing in FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring and winning the June 16th event at Tyler County Speedway in 2013. Plan is to keep on running FASTRAK Late Models National events in 2013 but he is also enjoying competing in a super late model as well now too. His goal is to soon become a full time racer on the World of Outlaws or Lucas Oil Late Models Dirt Series’.

So in closing there have been so many drivers and champions that have made a name for their careers coming off the ranks of running with the “Nations First and Premier Pro Late Models Series in the Country” – FASTRAK Racing Series. There is so many great champions’ FASTRAK has made as you can tell, who will it be to move up the ladder in the upper echelons’ of the “motorsports world” next. One thing is for certain “FASTRAK Builds Champions’.”
