Josh McGuire Cashes $3,000 Win at Southern Ohio Speedway; Climbs to Second at 201!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) visited victory lane for the fourth time in the 2013 racing season on Friday night, August 2 at Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio! Josh McGuire was very impressive all night during the 3rd Annual 'Hall of Fame Classic,' as he set fast time during qualifying, won the dash from the sixth starting spot, and later led all thirty laps in the feature event. The Grayson, Kentucky ace claimed the $3,000 victory by besting Delmas Conley, Rod Conley, Jason Montgomery, and Brett Kennard!

The #41 team then ventured to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening, August 3 for the 'Hatfield / McCoy Feuding 50.' The unsanctioned program drew a strong field of competitors to vie for the $5,000 top prize. Josh clicked off the third quickest lap during qualifying prior to finishing second in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 50-lapper, Josh fell back to as far as twelfth before making a serious charge back through the talented field. When the checkers were displayed, he found himself second in the finishing order behind only victor Eddie Carrier, Jr. Complete results from both weekend showdowns can be accessed online at www.southernohiospeedway.com and www.201speedway.net.

“It was a great weekend for us at Southern Ohio and 201 and I am very encouraged that we got the car a lot faster,” quoted McGuire recently. “We have been a little off recently, so I am glad that we hit on some things to make the car better. I just have to thank DJ’s Kitchen Corner, Henry Consulting, Inc., Performance Rod & Custom, Ashland Specialty, K&E Trucking, and all of my other great sponsors and product supporters. Hopefully, there are some more trips to victory lane in store for us this season!”

Next up for the JMR team will be a return trip to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky this Saturday, August 10. A regular weekly show is on tap at the 3/8-mile facility and a $1,500 winner’s check will be on the line. There is an outside chance that Josh may compete somewhere else on Friday night, but rain is looming large throughout the region tomorrow evening.
