CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 20 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season will be a busy one with 12 races in eight different states on the schedule of events. There will be two races on Friday night and ten races on Saturday night, as drivers battle for the Top 10 points fund paying spots with eight weeks left in the season.

NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 20 competition begins on Friday night with races scheduled for Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR and at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 20 action will be highlighted by Round 2 of the Villa South Assisted Living Summer Shootout Race at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS paying $1,000-to-win. East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will return to action this Saturday night.

Week 20 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Saturday night events will also be held at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS and St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.

Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO will return for NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 20 competition on Saturday night after being rained out last week.

Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS holds a 16-point lead over his teammate Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS in the battle for the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series $10,000 Championship. Daspit has a best 14 week total of 693 points, seven points away from a perfect 14 week total of 700 points.

Daspit has the highest Weekly Point Average among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings at 49.5. Daspit will be trying to net on his lowest weekly point total of 47 among his best 14 which means he will have to finish third or better in his best finish of the weekend to gain any points.

Lee has a best 14 week total of 677 points and is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings. Lee has the second highest WPA at 48.36 and will be trying to net on a 45 this weekend. Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS is third in the standings with a best 14 week total of 668. Palasini has the fifth highest WPA at 47.71 and will be trying to net on a 41.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series with a best 14 week total of 665 points. Moore has the sixth highest WPA at 47.5 and will be trying to net on a 43. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 657. Scarbrough has the seventh highest WPA at 46.93 and will be trying to net on a 42.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY is sixth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 641 points. Glisson will trying to move up in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings as he will be trying to net on a 25. Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is seventh in the standings with a best 14 week total of 634 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is another driver that will be trying to move up in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, as he still has one more week to earn full points. Dudley is eighth in the standings with 626 points and he has the fourth highest WPA at 48.15.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 623. Trosclair also has the potential to make a move up in the point standings, as he will be trying to net on a 35. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the standings with a best 14 week total of 620 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Several drivers in the second ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings will be looking to move up into the Top 10, as they have yet to reach the 14 week mark of the their respective season and can still earn full points. Four drivers in the second ten of the point standings are among the Top 10 drivers on the WPA list.

Roger Witt of Batesville, AR is 12th in the standings with 604 points, and one more week to earn full points. Witt has the tenth highest WPA at 46.46. Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN is 17th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 562 points, but he has the eighth highest WPA at 46.83 and has two more weeks to earn full points.

Gavin Landers of Batesville, AR is 18th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 542 points. Landers has the ninth highest WPA at 46.75 and still has two more weeks to earn full points.

Ricky Waggoner of Martin, TN may be 20th in the standings with 532 points, but he is tied for second on the WPA list with Lee among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings at 48.36.

Watch for Waggoner to rise up through the point standings in the coming weeks, as he has three more weeks to earn full points. Waggoner is still a title contender, as three 50 point wins would bring Waggoner’s point total up to 682, and put him 11 points behind the point leader Daspit before he starts netting points in the closing weeks of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 29. Drivers can compete in as many events available to then each week, only their best event point total for that week will count.

Once a driver reaches the 14-week point in their NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, they will begin to net points, by trying to replace the lowest weekly point total with a higher one. The Weekly Point Average is the average of their 14-week total, or up to the 14-week mark. A perfect point total is 700, and a perfect WPA is 50.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.
