TAZEWELL, TN – Rain on Saturday night after qualifying forced postponement of the West Chevrolet 50 for the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series until Sunday afternoon. The gates will open at 11 a.m. with the drivers meeting at 12 noon, and hot laps are scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series were able to complete qualifying before the rains came on Saturday night. Tim Busha of Boaz, AL was the fast qualifier with a lap around the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval in 11.594 seconds driving the Kilpatrick Racing GRT. The top six qualifiers will run a six-lap dash on Sunday to determine the top six starting spots for the $3,000-to-win $300-to-start West Chevrolet 50.
