OK well in my wreck this weekend I ruined my front shock and was hoping someone can help me determine its valving. I know to look at the part number but this has been changed. If I take the shock apart can any one tell me what I have by the spacers or anything in there so I can buy a new one?

you can mic the shims and compare to a chart and get close. Also need to know the bleed size of the hole in the piston and how many washers are on the base valve. I rebuilt a few earlier this year it was a good learning experience, you cannot be for sure what you have made w/o dynoing them. Find someone local w/ a dyno and build a relationship, Mine is Shock Doc, Paul Edwards(shameless plug). Marshall was good to talk to over at qa1 as well. If you need any help let me know.

FYI if its custom built not something on a qa1 chart this wont work. In that case you could take the shims/piston/base valve out and put it in another shock and dyno it to see.
