Brady Smith Racing Readies for Superior and Ogilvie After WOOLMS Weekend

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith and his #2 team traveled to the Wolverine State of Michigan on August 16-17 for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilts. On Friday night at the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan, Brady laid down the sixth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to taking the win in heat race action. After drawing the fourth starting spot for the 'Winston 50,' Brady battled a loose racecar throughout the 50-lap distance and slipped back to ninth in the final rundown.

At the Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line in the 'Merritt 50.' Brady posted the fourth quickest lap in Group A during time trials and once again scored the win in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 50-lapper, a wrong tire combination late in the race hampered the Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace and he spun out of the fifth spot on lap 41. Brady wound up retiring from the race in the twenty-second position. Complete results from both weekend events can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

The Brady Smith Racing team will stay much closer to home this upcoming weekend (August 23-24), as they plan to tackle a pair of Blaine Brothers Challenge Series events in the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota. On Friday night, the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin will play host to a $2,000 to win showdown, while the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota will do the same on Saturday evening. Additional information concerning these two races can be found online at www.wissota.org.
