Rick Eckert Cashes $3,500 at Action Track USA Following Strong Showing in Michigan

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) The Rick Eckert Racing team was back out on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series trail on August 16-17 in a pair of $10,000 to win battles in the Wolverine State of Michigan. On Friday night at the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan, Rick Eckert clicked off the second fastest lap overall during qualifying and later scored the win in his heat race. After drawing the outside of the front row for the 'Winston 50,' Rick paced the stellar field for the first thirteen circuits. At the conclusion of the 50-lapper, the York, Pennsylvania ace found himself third in the final rundown behind only race winner Jeep Van Wormer and runner-up Josh Richards.

At the Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line in the 'Merritt 50.' Rick laid down the fastest lap in Group B during time trials and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race. "Scrub" then started the 50-lap feature from the inside of the sixth row and drove his #24 Team Zero entry to a quiet - yet steady - tenth place performance. Full results from the trip to Michigan can be viewed by clicking on www.woolms.com.

Following the WOOLMS double-dip, Rick made the long trip back to Pennsylvania for Sunday's 'D1ck Tobias Classic' at the Action Track USA at the Kutztown Fairgrounds. Rick started the 45-lap SpeedSTR main event from the outside of the front row and paced the field from green to checkers. He went on to capture the $3,500 triumph over Billy Pauch Jr., Jeff Strunk, Kenny Brightbill, and Brian Montieth. The win was Eckert's fourth victory of the season in the Sunoco USAC Championship SpeedSTR division at the Berks County oval! The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will take the #24 team to the Little Valley Speedway in Little Valley, New York and the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia from August 22-24 for two more $10,000 to win tilts. Little Valley will kick things off tomorrow evening, while the ‘Raye Vest 50’ will conclude the doubleheader on Saturday night at Winchester. Rick comes into the double-dip fourth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. Additional information can be accessed by pointing your web browser to www.woolms.com.
