Mike Marlar Conquers Ponderosa for $7,500 Payday

Winfield, Tennessee (08/27/13) - Mike Marlar raced to his 3rd win of the 2013 season in his #5b Bryson Motorsports/Currin Construction/SEG LLC/Bloomquist/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model on Friday night with a triumph in the 6th Annual Friday Night Rumble at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Kentucky).

The $7,500-to-win race drew a field of 33 entries to the clay oval, and a 2nd place finish in his heat race locked Mike into the 7th starting spot for the 60 lap finale. As the race went green Mike began working his way forward and would take over the top spot on lap 11 from Jackie Boggs. After a lap 12 restart Boggs shot back to the lead, and Marlar would slip back as far as 3rd before regaining the lead on lap 48, when race leader Dustin Neat tangled with a lapped car.

Mike went on to score his second win in the event with Brad Neat, Dustin Linville, Justin Ratliff, and Chris Combs rounding out the top five.
"It was another great night for our team, and we are really excited about the upcoming big events," Marlar noted. "I really think we could make some late season noise."
