Josh McGuire Racing has Portsmouth and I-77 on Labor Day Weekend Schedule

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) invaded Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on August 23-24 for a pair of Dirt Late Model events. On Friday evening at Ponderosa, the 6th Annual 'Friday Night Rumble' took place and a $7,500 top prize was on the line. Josh McGuire won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 60-lap feature event from the outside of the front row. The Grayson, Kentucky driver eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the seventh spot in the unsanctioned A-Main after getting caught up in a mid-race incident.

At Portsmouth on Saturday night, a $2,000 winner's check was up for grabs in a weekly program. Josh clicked off the fastest lap during the qualifying session and later placed second in heat race action. The popular driver known as "Bad Fast" then moved up to second in the running order in the feature and grabbed a strong runner-up finish behind only victor Ben Adkins. Complete results from both venues can be found online at www.ponderosaspeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

As is the norm, the #41 team has some lucrative races scheduled for the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend. Up first will be the ‘Pepsi 50 River Days Rumble’ on Saturday evening, August 31 at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the action at PRP and the $15,000 payday will be the goal. The doubleheader weekend will then conclude on Sunday, September 1 with the 45th Annual ‘Hillbilly 100’ at I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia. The LOLMDS will once again sanction the $25,000 to win crown jewel extravaganza. Additional information concerning both of these races can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
