Rick Eckert Earns Three Top Five Performances in Ultra-Busy Five Race Week

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert was extremely busy during the extended Labor Day holiday weekend, as he entered five high-profile Dirt Late Model events from August 29-September 2 in the states of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Rick sported fast racecars all weekend and despite a little bad luck, the York, Pennsylvania star still accumulated a trio of Top Five performances. He started his weekend last Thursday at the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia in a $4,000 to win American Dirt Racing Association (ADRA) showdown. Rick won the dash to earn the pole position for the 30-lapper and later posted a solid third place effort behind only winner Steve Shaver and runner-up Josh Richards.

His other two Top Five finishes of the weekend came on Saturday and Sunday in World of Outlaws Late Model Series competition at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. In Saturday night’s $8,000 to win program, Rick ran second in his heat race prior to picking off two competitors during the 40-lap feature en route to a fifth place outing behind only victor Gregg Satterlee, Vic Coffey, Jeff Rine, and Josh Richards. At Selinsgrove on Sunday in the ‘National Open,’ which boasted a $10,000 top prize, Rick finished second in heat race action, led the first thirteen circuits from the outside of the front row, and later posted an impressive runner-up finish behind winner Darrell Lanigan.

Rick Eckert Racing is now set to enjoy a rare weekend off from racing action, as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sits idle until September 13-14. “Scrub” will bring his #24 machine to the Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois and the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri next weekend for a pair of $10,000 to win battles. Rick comes into the Midwestern doubleheader fourth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. Additional information concerning these races can be viewed by logging onto www.woolms.com.
