Fan Appreciation Night and Pro Late Models $1,000 to win at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday September 13

Junction City, KY-September 8, 2013- Following a couple of weeks off, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are set to return to action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday September 13 with Fan Appreciation Night that will see a full racing program in all divisions, along with a $1,000 to win Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Model main event presented by T and K Trucking, along with lots of special activities for Fan Appreciation Night.

Ponderosa Speedway is planning lots of activities for Fan Appreciation Night on Friday September 13. Adult general admission will be only $10 for this event, while all children ages 12 and under will be admitted FREE in the general admission area with a paid adult. Hot dogs will available at the concession area all night for $1 each. After time trials, the track is going to have the drivers pull their race cars out onto the frontchute of the track and fans will be allowed to go down onto to the track and meet and greet with their favorite drivers. Lastly, during intermission, there will be bicycle races for the children ages 12 and under and they will be divided into various age groups with winners receiving a trophy.

The Friday September 13 racing event at Ponderosa Speedway will be Fan Appreciation Night and all four weekly divisions will be in action as the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds racing for $800 to win, Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Models racing for $1,000 to win (presented by T and K Trucking), and D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman racing for $300 to win. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

The tire rule for the Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Models for this event will be as follows and these are the tire compounds that must be on the front and rear of the cars: Hoosier D21, Hoosier D55, Hoosier 200, or Hoosier 400.

Activities for the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag after the meet and greet with the race fans after time trials are completed. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE with a paid adult (this is for the remainder of the season on children ages 12 and under). A pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on August 23 with a great night of racing competition and awesome fan turnout and feature event winners that evening included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman. The Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Models had the night off.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night event are Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Models, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman.

The bicycle races for the children will be broken down into three age groups, with a trophy going to the boy and girl winner: 6 and under, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. Also, the top Sportsman qualifier will receive $100 courtesy of fellow division driver Johnny King.
