I have been looking around and found some of you guys have been putting newer bodies on metric cars. I was wondering if it was possiable how hard it would be to put one on a car that done has a cage and has to have the fire wall and and floorboards in it. Thanks.

Generally it's not a big job.

I've put newer bodies on older frames and this winter we're putting a '55 body on a metric Impala frame.

The biggest thing is to try to get the wheelbase to look somewhat stock. I'm sure you'll have to fill in some areas around the rocker panels and around the firewall.

One thing that's helpful is to get the car out of the shop and take a "long look" at how it looks and fits... get it out and get 20' back... gives you a whole new perspective on your work.

If you get the 95-99 Monte or cutlass they fit very nice. The wheelbase for them is 107 just like the SS which are 107-108. Put the stock roof correctly and the rest just matches up to it. Then all that's left is cutting out the fender wells. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=513048058768348&set=t.1315958299&type=3&theater

What is the weight difference compared to the old body style vs a aluminum? Also How wide is the rear deck at the spoiler? Thanks
