CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is now “Mr. Perfect.” Daspit drove the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star to his 15th win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, giving him a victory in each of his best 14 weeks of competition for a perfect point total of 700.

Daspit made history, as he became the first driver in the eight-year history of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series to record a perfect best 14 week total of 700 points. For the season, Daspit has a series-leading 15 wins, a series-leading 27 top five finishes, and a series-leading 29 top ten finishes in 32 races.

While Daspit has clinched the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Championship, the battles for the rest of the Top 10 point fund-paying spots continue with three weeks left in the 2013 season. Several drivers made moves among the Top 10 and others got closer to earning a seat at banquet table.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS moved up to the second spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after taking his eighth win of the season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the MP Trucking Trak-Star. Palasini was able to net nine points and bring his best 14 week total to 691 points. Palasini has eight wins and 14 top five finishes in 21 races.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS drove the Billy Riels Racing GRT to his fifth win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS to net two points and remain in the third spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 687 points. Lee has five wins, 25 top five finishes and 28 top ten finishes in 32 races.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 24 action, and fell from second to fourth in the point standings. Dudley has a best 14 week total of 686 points after nine wins, 15 top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 17 races driving the Zaxby’s Rocket.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY also did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 24 action, but remains in the fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 673 points. Glisson has three wins, 12 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 19 races driving the SGR Equipment Rocket.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as both drivers have a best 14 week total of 669 points. Williams has the tie-breaker advantage with four wins to two wins for Scarbrough.

Williams jumped from tenth to sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after collecting his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Star Plumbing Trak-Star and netting nine points. For the season, Williams has four wins, 14 top five finishes and 17 top five finishes in 22 races.

Scarbrough did not net any points in Week 24 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action. Scarbrough has two wins, 14 top five finishes and 24 top ten finishes in a series-leading 33 races driving the Villa South Trak-Star. Scarbrough had a pair of sixth-place finishes in Week 24 competition at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park on Friday night, and Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS and Robby Moore of Brosley, MO are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 668 points. Arnold holds the tie-breaker advantage with six wins to one win for Moore.

Arnold climbed from ninth to eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings after driving The Strength Center Trak-Star to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway and netting seven points. Arnold has six wins, 13 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 24 races.

Moore did not net any points in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 24 competition after a sixth-place finish on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, and an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO driving the Custom Race Cars Trak-Star. For the season, Moore has one win, 15 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes in 22 races.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 total of 665 points. Cooper has one win, 12 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket. Cooper did not compete in Week 24 action.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 24 action, Roger Witt of Batesville, AR took a 40-point win on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in The Chrome Shop Trak-Star. Mason Oberkramer of Brosley, MO was a first-time winner this season on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in the Cornell Trucking GRT.

The 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS drove the McDuffie Racing Trak-Star to a 40-point win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Evan Ellis of Plantersville, MS took his third win of the season on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Ellis Welding Special. Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX was rained out, and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL did not report their Week 24 results.

Two-time Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL had a big week with five wins from Daspit, Palasini, Williams, Witt and McDuffie to all but wrap up the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Championship with a total of 48 wins. Trak-Star can clinch the title after Week 25.

The defending and four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR moved up to the second spot in the Chassis Manufactures Challenge standings after Lee and Oberkramer gave them their 25th and 26th victories of the season. Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is third with 25 wins.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth seven wins. Also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and still looking for their first wins are Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN.
