Riggs Motorsports in Action at Eldora; Randy Korte Set for WoO Doubleheader

(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team was out in full force from September 5-7 at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, as both Randy Korte and Jason Riggs entered the 43rd edition of the 'World 100.' The expanded format kicked off with a pair of Twin 25s, each of which paid $5,000 to the winner. On Thursday night, Randy ran third in his heat race to transfer into the 25-lap even feature event, but a flat tire unfortunately relegated him to a disappointing twenty-fourth place performance. On Friday evening, Randy drew a bad number for qualifying, did not put down a fast lap, and later opted to scratch from the remainder of the night.

Jason, who was making a rare trip to the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, was unfortunately unable to make the start in both of the 25-lap prelims on Thursday and Friday. When the action heated up on Saturday at the "Big E," a $46,000 top prize was on the line in the 'World 100.' Randy finished ninth in his heat race, tenth in his B-Main, and tenth in the $1,000 to win B-Scramble, while Jason ran eleventh in his heat race, fifteenth in his B-Main, and ninth in the B-Scramble. Both Illinois drivers were not able to transfer into the 100-lap crown jewel main event, which was won by John Blankenship. Complete results from the long weekend at Eldora can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

With Jason scheduled to take this upcoming September 13-14 weekend off from racing action, Randy will try to defend his home turf against the traveling stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. The tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois will get the doubleheader started on Friday with the ‘Photobilly 50,’ while the annual running of the ‘Pevely Nationals’ will wrap things up on Saturday at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Both one-day shows in the St. Louis area will be headlined by $10,000 to win main events. Additional information can be found by logging onto www.woolms.com.
