Jimmy Mars Ready for Late Model and Modified Action at Cedar Lake Following World 100

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Mars Racing rolled into the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 5-7 for the 43rd edition of the 'World 100.' The expanded three-day format started with a pair of Twin 25s with each paying $5,000 to the winner. On Thursday night, Jimmy Mars took the win in his heat race, but later retired early from the 25-lapper in the twenty-third position. At the "Big E" on Friday evening, Jimmy narrowly missed out on a coveted transfer spot into the 25-lap A-Main after finishing fifth in his heat race and third in his consolation race.

When things really heated up at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant on Saturday, Jimmy ran second in his loaded heat race behind only prelim victor Bobby Pierce, which locked him into the eleventh starting spot in the $46,000 to win 'World 100.' In the 100-lap crown jewel main event, Jimmy quickly moved up to the sixth spot in the running order before ultimately retiring after only 58 circuits. The Menomonie, Wisconsin star was relegated to a disappointing twentieth place performance in the "Granddaddy of Them All." Complete results from the long weekend can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be the 8th Annual ‘Legendary 100’ at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Jimmy will be ultra-busy throughout the September 12-14 weekend, as he will compete in both his Late Model and Open Wheel Modified. Things will kick off on Thursday with a $1,500 to win show for the Late Models and an $800 to win program for the Modifieds. Preliminary action for the ‘Legendary 100’ for both divisions will then take place on Friday, while the big feature events ($5,000 to win Late Models and $3,000 to win Modifieds) are slated for Saturday.
