Ray Cook Rallies from Tail to Earn Podium Finish in Crimson & White 50
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing invaded the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama on Saturday, September 7 for the 'Crimson & White 50,' which was sanctioned by the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS). Ray Cook clicked off the second quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the second row for the start of the $5,000 to win feature. Unfortunately, a flat tire on lap two sent him pitside for new rubber and Ray returned to the speedway at the tail end of the field. The Brasstown, North Carolina star then rallied throughout the remainder of the 50-lapper to make it all the way back up to third at the checkers to finish behind only race winner Josh Putnam and runner-up Billy Ogle, Jr. Full results from GVS can be viewed online at www.sasdirt.com.
Next up for the #53 team will be a pair of regional races in the states of Tennessee and Georgia over the September 13-14 weekend. The Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) will roll into the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Friday night for a $3,000 to win tilt. A $4,000 top prize will then be on the line in an Ultimate Super Late Model Series battle at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia on Saturday evening.
