Dennis Erb, Jr. Earns Top Ten in Pevely Nationals; Back on Lucas Oil Trail this Weekend
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team tackled a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns in the states of Illinois and Missouri over the September 13-14 weekend. On Friday night at the tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois, Dennis timed in fourth fastest in Group A during qualifying and later ran fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main. Unfortunately, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace was not able to find a way into the $10,000 to win 'Photobilly 50,' which was won by fellow Land of Lincoln driver Brandon Sheppard.
At the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the 'Pevely Nationals.' Dennis clicked off the fourth quickest lap in Group B during time trials and later grabbed the second transfer spot through his heat race. After drawing the third starting position prior to the 55-lap feature event, Dennis wound up slipping to eighth in the final rundown of the 'Pevely Nationals.' Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts in the states of Kentucky and Indiana over the September 20-21 weekend. The venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky will kick things off on Friday night with the 27th Annual ‘Ralph Latham Memorial,’ which boasts a $10,000 payday. The doubleheader weekend with the Lucas Oil gang will then conclude with the $15,000 to win ‘Jackson 100’ on Saturday evening at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Dennis comes into the weekend fifth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings.
