Rick Eckert Strong in WOOLMS Midwest Doubleheader; Down & Dirty 100 Next

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert Racing returned to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series scene on September 13-14 in a doubleheader in the states of Illinois and Missouri. On Friday night at the tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois, the 'Photobilly 50' took place and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Rick Eckert timed in fifth quickest in Group B during the qualifying session and later ran third in his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lapper from the inside of the sixth row, Rick climbed all the way up to second in the running order before settling for a strong third place effort behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Shane Clanton.

At the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday evening, another $10,000 winner's check was up for grabs in the annual running of the 'Pevely Nationals.' Rick clicked off the thirteenth fastest lap in Group A during time trials and later finished fifth in heat race action. After winning his B-Main, the York, Pennsylvania star blasted past eleven competitors during the 55-lap affair to garner a sixth place performance behind only victor Josh Richards, Darrell Lanigan, Billy Moyer, Brian Shirley, and Bobby Pierce. Full results from the WOOLMS double-dip can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.

Next up for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the #24 team will be a trip to the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on September 20-21 for the 'Down & Dirty 100.’ Qualifying and heat races will take place in the Wolverine State on Friday night, while the consolation races and 100-lap feature are slated for Saturday evening. A hefty $20,000 payday has been established for the extra-distance affair this weekend at the 7/16-mile speedplant. Rick was third in last year’s inaugural running of the ‘Down & Dirty 100.’ Additional information on Berlin Raceway can be accessed by logging onto www.woolms.com.
