Billy Moyer Aims for More Knoxville Success Following Jackson 100

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his #21 team eyed a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events over the September 20-21 weekend in the states of Kentucky and Indiana. Following a rain-out of the $10,000 to win 'Ralph Latham Memorial' on Friday night at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team invaded the legendary Brownstown Speedway on Saturday evening. The 34th edition of the 'Jackson 100' at the 1/4-mile Brownstown, Indiana bullring boasted a $15,000 payday.

Billy posted the thirteenth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later finished fifth in his loaded heat race. After a triumph in his B-Main, Billy started the 100-lap 'Jackson 100' from the outside of the ninth row. Unfortunately, the Batesville, Arkansas star brought out a lap 23 yellow and retired under the caution period to finish twentieth in the final rundown. Full results from the Brownstown biggie can be located online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will be the 10th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ at the renowned Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 26-28. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the huge three-day crown jewel event, which kicks off tonight and tomorrow with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows. The ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ will then conclude on Saturday evening with a D-Main, C-Main, B-Main, and the 100-lap, $40,000 to win feature event. In all, over $270,000 worth of prize money will be up for grabs this weekend at Knoxville Raceway.

The Lucas Oil Production Studios will also be on hand to film this three-day extravaganza that will air on three different TV Networks in 2013 including FOX Sports 1, NBC Sports, and MAVTV. Billy swept all three nights of the 2010 ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ and finished eighth in last year’s headliner after taking the win in one of the preliminary races.
