CARTERSVILLE, GA – This weekend marks the 27th and final week of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season. There are still 11 drivers battling for Top 10 points fund-paying positions in the point standings. A total of seven events will take place in Week 27 action in five different states.
NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 27 competition will begin on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. A pair of $1,000-to-win races will highlight Saturday night action.
Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX will host a $1,000-to-win race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Models on Saturday night. Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will also have a $1,000-to-win race this Saturday night for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Models.
Also in action this Saturday night with NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model events are St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
The top two spots in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings have already been decided with Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS taking the $10,000 Championship with a perfect best 14 week total of 700 points representing 14 50-point wins. The only improvement Daspit can make in the last week of the season is to increase his season win total to 16.
Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS has clinched the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series runner-up spot with a best 14 week total of 694 points. Palasini can still net two points in the remaining week of the season and bring his season total to a possible 696 points.
Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 689 points. In the last week of the season, “The General” will be looking to net on a 48, and earn a possible total of 691 points.
Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is fourth with a best 14 week total of 686 points. Dudley can still net on a 45 with the potential to earn a total of 691 points. That has the possibility to tie him with Lee for third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, and Dudley has the tie-breaker advantage with two more 50-point wins.
Cliff Williams of Star, MS has the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 677 points. Williams will try to net on a 41 that could bring his season point total to as high as 686, which could tie him with Dudley for the fourth spot, but Dudley has the tie-breaker advantage.
Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 675 points. In the last week of the season, Arnold will try to net on a 44 that gives the “Hattiesburg Hustler” the potential to end the season with a total of 681 points.

Drivers can compete in as many events available to then each week, only their best event point total for that week will count.
Once a driver reaches the 14-week point in their NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, they will begin to net points, by trying to replace the lowest weekly point total with a higher one.
