We had been using the LSX block for awhile on these dirt modifieds but now we have a really good option thanks to Dart, the LS Next is the best thing out since the release of this engine and all the components that go along with it. Fixing the oiling and windage problems that had followed the LS std block, this new block has corrected all that and then some. We tested this weekend with the a very basic, shelf parts, hyd roller camshaft design, stock rocker w/upgrades, 427cu.in., GM L92 headed dirt modified build. We made 744hp at 6000 rpm, 708ftlbs at 4750, engine performed excellent all weekend at Poplar Bluff Speedway, three day show, also received the hard charger award from Comp Cams this weekend. This will be set up as a coil over plug system or a distributor in the front like our older designs. The best thing is, this engine can be purchased for as low as 16,500.00 turn key drop in ready.
