Sweet MFG TV Challenge - Presented by E3 Spark Plugs Bonus Money Up For Grabs at DTWC

WAYCROSS, GA (October 18, 2013) – This weekend’s RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship will also mark the final event of the SWEET Mfg. TV Challenge - Presented by E3 Spark Plugs. The SWEET Mfg. TV Challenge - Presented by E3 Spark Plugs awards points to drivers at all the TV races on the schedule in 2013. The driver that earns the most points at the TV races and maintains perfect attendance during the season will be awarded a cash award of $10,000 for 1st, $2,500 for 2nd and $1,500 for 3rd based on the final TV points standings.

Randy Sweet, of SWEET Mfg., and Steve Joiner, of E3 Spark Plugs, have partnered to provide the racers additional bonus money to compete for at the TV races on the schedule in 2013. Lucas Oil Products and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are committed to bringing the stars and cars of the series to five TV networks in 2013. LOLMDS events will air on CBS, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, FOX Sports 1 and MAVTV American Real Networks in 2013.

Jimmy Owens is in a tight battle with Steve Francis for the $10,000 bonus in the TV point standings. Owens leads this point category by a slim 30 points over Francis heading into this weekend’s final TV race. John Blankenship of Williamson, WV is currently in third place in the TV Challenge points only 50 points behind Francis. “This is a neat deal that Sweet Mfg, E3 Spark Plugs and the series have put together this year with the TV races. Hopefully, we can earn enough points this weekend to pass Jimmy and collect the $10,000 bonus at the awards banquet”, stated Steve Francis, driver of the Clint Bowyer owned #15 Georgia Boot Racing Team. Activities for the 33rd Annual RED BUCK Dirt Track World Championship - Presented by Borrowed Blue will get underway on Thursday, October 17th with Modified Qualifying, Heat Races and Consolation races. On Friday, October 18th , the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take to the track for Hot-Laps, RED BUCK Time Trials and Heat Races. Then, on Saturday, October 19th , the schedule will include the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series B-Mains, the $3,000 to win Modified Feature, the $50,000 to win/$2,000 to start DTWC 100-lap feature event and the $3,000 to win Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers race.
