Daniel Baggerly Wraps Up 2013 Racing Season with Strong Smoky Mountain Weekend!
(RURAL RETREAT, VIRGINIA) Daniel Baggerly and his #16 B&B Motorsports team ventured to the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on October 25-26 for the inaugural running of the 'Tennessee State Championships,' which closed out their 2013 campaign. On Friday night, Daniel timed in sixth quickest during Super Late Model qualifying and later moved up one spot in the $2,000 to win feature event en route to a solid fifth place performance. The Rural Retreat, Virginia ace trailed only victor Jonathan Davenport, Billy Ogle, Jr., Tommy Kerr, and Skip Arp in the 20-lapper.
At Smoky Mountain on Saturday evening, Daniel battled ignition problems during Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying, but later grabbed the sixth and final transfer spot through his heat race into the $10,000 to win main event. After rolling off from the outside of the ninth row in the 50-lapper, "Bagz" was hovering around the top ten late in the race when a broken oil pump caused him to retire in the fifteenth position. Daniel also entered the Crate Late Model portion of the 'Tennessee State Championship' and recorded a strong seventh place effort in the $2,000 to win A-Main, which was cut short to only ten circuits due to a time limit. The B&B Motorsports team wound up entering only thirteen (13) events during the course of their limited 2013 racing season. Daniel grabbed a pair of Crate Late Model Twin 20 wins at the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia back on July 27 for his only two trips to victory lane. In all, Daniel amassed four (4) Top Five finishes during his ’13 campaign and seven (7) Top Ten performances.
