Jeff Taylor Leaves Las Vegas with Podium Finish

Cave City, Arkansas (11/12/13) - Jeff Taylor made the long tow from Arkansas to the desert over the weekend to compete in his #5 Jeff Taylor Racing/Industrial Electric/Provence Construction/New Vision Graphics/Taylor Chassis/Mullins Race Engines in the 2013 edition of the Duel in the Desert, which posted a $7,777 top prize for the finale for IMCA Open Wheel Modifieds.

A record field of approximately 246 Open Wheel Modifieds from 21 states and three Canadian provinces entered the program, and on Thursday night via preliminary action Taylor raced into the 19th starting spot for the preliminary feature. With the top four finishers locking into Saturday night's big finale, Jeff blasted through the field on his way to a 2nd place finish behind race winner, Terry Phillips.

Via his performance on Thursday evening Taylor locked into the 7th starting spot for the 40 lap finale on Saturday night. In the feature Jeff enjoyed a great run through the top ten on the ultra-slick surface on his way to a 3rd place finish behind race winner, Jeremy Payne, and Terry Phillips.

"We had a pretty good hot rod all weekend, and even though I obviously wanted the win, to get a podium finish against a field of competitors this tough is a pretty big deal," said Taylor.
