Rick Eckert Racing Concludes 2013 Season with Pair of Top Fives in World Finals!

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) The Rick Eckert Racing team wrapped up their 2013 campaign in the seventh annual 'World Finals' at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina from November 7-9. On Thursday night, two separate World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying sessions were held to set the heat race lineups for the pair of $12,000 to win weekend events. Rick Eckert clicked off the second fastest lap in Group A for Friday's program, while he laid down the thirteenth quickest circuit in Group B for Saturday's showdown.

At the 4/10-mile speedplant on Friday evening, Rick scored the win in his heat race and later redrew the fifth starting spot prior to the 50-lap feature event. The York, Pennsylvania star then notched a solid fifth place performance in the A-Main behind only victor Darrell Lanigan, Scott Bloomquist, Josh Richards, and Don O'Neal. On Saturday in the season finale, Rick ran second in heat race action and later started the 50-lapper from the outside of the sixth row. "Scrub" then picked off ten competitors during the race to score an impressive runner-up effort behind only winner Josh Richards.

Rick finished fourth in the final version of the WOOLMS point standings following the 46-event season. Full results from Charlotte can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

The #24 team amassed one (1) win, twenty-two (22) Top Fives, and thirty-eight (38) Top Tens in the forty-six (46) World of Outlaws Late Model Series shows held in 2013. Rick’s lone WOOLMS triumph came back on July 9 when he scored an $8,000 win at the Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyoming during the ‘Wild West Tour.’ Rick was painstakingly close to other WOOLMS victories throughout the year, as he recorded five (5) runner-up finishes on the national touring series.

Overall, Rick drove his own #24 machine and Paul Crowl’s #7 car to eight (8) wins, thirty-seven (37) Top Fives, and fifty-three (53) Top Tens in sixty-five (65) Dirt Late Model starts. His biggest win came just a couple of weeks ago when he claimed the $20,100 top prize in the annual ‘National 100’ at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on November 3.
