Skylar Marlar and Allen Murray on Front Row for Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park
Wheel, TN-November 15, 2013- The opening night of the 2nd Annual Deep Fried 75 by CT Promotions was contested on Friday evening at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN and Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN and Allen Murray of San Antonio, TX won their respective heats and will lead the field to the green flag in the 75 lap, $10,000 to win main event on Saturday evening. In UMP DIRTcar Modified action, David McWilliams of Bethel, OH and Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN will lead the field to green in the main event for the open wheel division on Saturday evening.
The Super Late Model division would have 44 entries and Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN was the overall top qualifier and top qualifier in Group A at 12.540 seconds, while Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN was the top qualifier in Group B at 12.660 seconds. Four ten lap qualifying heats would be contested, with the top four transferring on to Saturday’s Deep Fried 75 A-Main. Marlar would win heat race one over Scott Cook of Shelbyville, TN, 2012 Deep Fried 75 winner Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN, and Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY. Heat number two would be taken by Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC over Tanner English of Benton, KY, Dennis Erb, Jr. of Carpenterville, IL, and Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS. Murray would be impressive in winning heat three over Hickerson, David Seibers of Petersburg, TN, and Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY. 2013 SRRS champion Josh Putnam of Florence, AL would be the winner of heat four over Tony Morris of Murfreesboro, TN, Daniel Miller of Shelbyville, TN, and Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY. Saturday will see two 12 lap Last Chance Showdowns on tap for the Super Late Models, with the top four finishers from each transferring on to the Deep Fried 75, setting a 24 car starting field.
David McWilliams would be the top UMP DIRTcar Modified qualifier among 18 entries at 14.023 seconds and would win a hotly contested heat race number one over Trent Young of Hopkinsville, KY, Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY, and Justin Jenkins of Hendersonville, TN. Veteran racer Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN would be the winner of heat two over Tony Garber of Murfreesboro, TN, Eddie Rhinehart of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Casey Pearson of Foley, MO. All 18 drivers will be eligible to start the A-Main for the division on Saturday evening.
The Deep Fried 75 will conclude on Saturday November 16 with the Last Chance Showdowns for the Super Late Models, the non-qualifiers race for the Super Late Models, along with the UMP DIRTcar Modified main event, plus last chance events for the Two Barrel/Crate Late Models and main event for the Modified Street Stocks.
