Dennis Erb, Jr. Vaults Up to Second in Season-Ending Deep Fried 75

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing wrapped up their version of the 2013 racing season on November 15-16 at the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee. The 2nd Annual 'Deep Fried 75' took place over the weekend at DRRP and a $10,000 top prize was on the line in the unsanctioned showdown. On Friday night during preliminary action, Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in sixth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session and later placed third in his stacked heat race behind only prelim victor Ray Cook and runner-up Tanner English.

When the 75-lap main event rolled off on Saturday evening, Dennis started the race from the inside of the sixth row. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace primarily utilized the bottom to middle grooves of the racy oval to make his way to the front of the field. With under ten laps to go, Dennis had moved up to the third spot and was sizing up the leaders in lapped traffic. However, a caution with five to go effectively negated his chance at the win, but he did wind up a strong runner-up behind only winner Josh Putnam in the 'Deep Fried 75.' Full results from Duck River can be accessed online at www.duckriverracewaypark.com.

Dennis officially entered seventy-nine (79) events during the course of his ultra-busy 2013 campaign and racked up seven (7) wins, twenty (20) Top Fives, and forty-two (42) Top Tens. He was a fixture on two national touring series, as he finished fifth in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series points and seventh in National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) points. On the Lucas Oil trail, Dennis accumulated four (4) victories, ten (10) Top Fives, and twenty (20) Top Tens in the thirty-eight (38) series events held in 2013.
