2013 FASTRAK World Championships Weekend, Two Consecutive Years a BIG HIT!!

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** November 19th, 2013 FASTRAK PR

(Carnesville, Georgia) – Dennis “Rambo” Franklin becomes the 10th Annual “Decade of Speed” FASTRAK WORLD CHAMPION. Now renamed to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS anyone that witnessed this event knows why. It was as many said the absolute best racing they had ever seen. Coming from people such as Jim Williams of PRO POWER Performance that statement in itself is huge.

The 2nd newly named World Championship/World Challenge was nothing less than a huge success. It was all there. Live music on Thursday and Friday nights. A corn hole tournament on Friday night along with what could have been the best racing they had ever seen as so many people stated. South Carolinas Dennis “Rambo” Franklin became the winner of the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP with Rick Williams of West Virginia becoming the WORLD CHALLENGE winner. The newly formatted “King of the Hill” event on Thursday night following the open practice was won by Bobby Roher taking home a cool $1000. The “Engine Builders” 25 was won by Danny Angeliccho.

The drivers for the World Championship were brought out on to the speedway two at a time in the back of Chevrolet trucks furnished by Crossroads Chevrolet in Mt. Hope. Miss FASTRAK Chelsea Smith of SC was in the back of a beautiful 2014 Chevrolet Camaro from Crossroads. Ms. Pat McGee was in the pace car as well a breast cancer survivor as the series had many pink cars and flags displayed during the entire weekend. The fireworks show during the 4 wide “salute to the fans” was spectacular as the cars made their way around the speedway in anticipation of the entire weekends WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP finale.

It was a two day event which had 20 heat races, 10 B Mains and 5 feature events. There were 57 FASTRAK teams to qualify on “Topless” Friday night and another 96 teams that qualified on Saturday night bringing the Grand Total to 153 Entries. In this economy this is an incredible feat for any series and especially that of a series that is only in its 10th year.

The stands were packed to full capacity. The hillsides were packed. The pits were packed with the most amazing temperatures seen this time of the year in Beckley in a long, long time.

Everything was going great. The “TOPLESS” Friday Night Fights features were won by #33 Chris Meadows and #1A Tim Dohm. The top twenty finishers from each earned the chance to qualify for the World Championship the next day. Teams that were not qualified for the World Championship did have the chance to run the World Challenge Saturday making it a win- win for teams from all over the United States. Teams not making either feature on Saturday were allowed to run the “Engine Builders 25” and received tow fees for those that didn’t leave with nothing. Everyone left with money in hand and that was the goal of the series this year. “Stan Lester insisted he wanted everyone to leave with something.” said Brian Haynes of FASTRAK. “We accomplished that this year. That in itself we consider a great success because not many if any championships can say that. We are proud of all our teams and wanted to give back. It’s our 10th Anniversary and our way of saying thanks”.

It is the 10th year of the series and in this day and time, which in itself is quite a feat. FASTRAK has grown to 627 late model teams. 141 different super late model teams with the ULTIMATE Series. 53 teams in the FASTRAK MODZ series and looking to open something completely new and different in 2014. Who would have ever thought this small Georgia town of Carnesville, GA would have ever produced so many race teams in such a short period of time?

The weekend truly was great! The racing was fantastic and Champions galore all throughout the weekend with #2 Rambo Franklin becoming the NEW WORLD CHAMPION.
