CHARLOTTE, NC - NeSmith Racing CEO and Founder Mike Vaughn introduced Adam Stewart as the new Series Director today at the CARS Trade Show at the Charlotte Convention Center. Stewart will take over the day-today operations of the NeSmith Racing Family of Series from the organization’s base in Cartersville, GA.

Stewart, former General Manager of Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL, will work with NeSmith Racing’s fulltime staff of Vaughn, his wife Heather, Roby Helm and Tim Sims, as well as the race day staff of Chad Wallace, Barney Miller, and the timing and scoring group of Race Scoring Specialist in coordinating events and operations of the four NeSmith Racing Family of Series.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series, the family of weekly tracks sanctioned by the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series, and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division all fall under the umbrella of NeSmith Racing.

Vaughn has held the position of Series Director since he founded NeSmith Racing in 2005, and by handing the coordination of the day-to-day operation to Stewart, Vaughn will now turn his attention to the marketing end of running the series.

“Adam Stewart has worked with the race day staff of NeSmith Racing off and on since the series inception in 2005, and since the recent sale of Green Valley Speedway, I felt there was an opportunity for Adam to join us in the future growth of NeSmith Racing,” Vaughn said. “Adam did a tremendous job at Green Valley Speedway and I look forward to having Adam’s organizational and leadership skills here at NeSmith Racing.”

Vaughn said the addition of Stewart to the fulltime staff of NeSmith Racing fills an important void the group needed for future growth.

“Adam Stewart is a key piece of a growing puzzle to a small staff that I am very proud of in what we have accomplished through the years,” Vaughn said. “Our small staff has been able to accomplish as much, if not more, that much larger staffs in other series. Having Adam taking over the Series Director duties will free me up to spend more time with our current marketing partners and bringing in new marketing partners to help the branding of our growing company. Our staff is very versatile and can multi-task in many areas. Adam’s work ethic fits right into that mold, and he is going to be a big help to me, Heather, Roby, and Tim.”

Before his tenure as General Manager of Green Valley Speedway, Stewart worked as the Race Director and Flagman at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Stewart has also appeared on the silver screen as one of the flagman in the movie “Talladega Nights.”

“I have always been a fan of all of the NeSmith Racing series, and have believed in what Mike Vaughn has envisioned through the years for short track racing,” Stewart said. “I’m really excited about the opportunity Mike has given me, and I’m looking forward to working with everyone at NeSmith Racing. These are people I’ve known for many years and I’m proud to join them on a winning team.”
