Ford Ranger 2.5 starter works, have no issues with it on high compression motor.

Thank's 41 for your input...lol I was just assuming most were using a race style starter, that's why I mentioned the Powermaster version.I tried a stocker non gear reduction with no good results.I will try the ranger gear reduction 2.5 one, that's awesome their only 1/2 the $.

We use factory motorcraft starters. Get them off junkers and rebuild them. Never bought a new one after 15 years.

FYI
Some tracks rules do not allow the truck starter in the cars. No truck parts. However the gear reduction factory ranger starter also came on the 1993 mustangs. Weighs just over 5 pounds. Big starter weighs over 10.
