View Full Version : lavonia Speedway steps it up in 2014 with multiple large events!

The Lavonia Speedway was purchased by Stan Lester in 2012 and he and his partner max king moved forward with reopening the 3/8th's mile dirt speedway. King with Lou Gerrings disease in passed in late 2013 closing in on the end of the racing season. Kings wife Sarah and Lester are now partners and moving on towards big things in 2014.

"I look forward to 2014" stated Lester. "Sarah ran all the concessions last year so it isn't like we have never worked together. We'll do just fine and move continue the trend of moving Lavonia speedway to the next level this year. WE WILL make this the best facility in the SE bar none.".

2014 will bring about many new events and faces during the 2014 season. The KMSA touring series, ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series, FASTRAK late model series, USCS sprints, Monster truck show, World of Outlaw late models, BMX motorcross bikes, Possibly the Legends cars and also the SE late model series are all expected to be at Lavonia Speedway in 2014.

"We are also planing on our new go kart track off of turns 1 and 2 plus a mud boggin down the back straight and a lot more this year" said Lewis Martin track manager. "one thing we don't do around here is slow down much". Martin did a great job in 2013 with the track prep" said Lester. "He learned a lot during the year and we hope to learn a lot more in 2014.

"We will have a country music artist, battle of the bands and probably one concert with a southern rock band stated King. "There will be tons of things going on this year and don't forget the last friday of every month is always "free county night".
