I bought a quick change for next season and I guess im a little lost. I didnt realize when I bought my pinion plate there are two different styles and Naturally I got the wrong one . My rear is setup for the pinion plate that has the seal included but the one I bought is open in the center. Can I convert to a plate seal and what is all needed.

I think i undestand you correctly let me try to explain it.

You have to have the stock plate on the quickchange to run a panhard plate that doesnt have the seal. You can change back and forth as long as you keep the original front cover. You just get longer bolts and put the plate you have on it and leave the original cover.

Be sure to get bolts that are significantly longer than the stock ones. I used bolts that I assumed were long enough and had major problems at Eldora. Tore the q.c. pinion cover holes all to heck. Also in my opinion aluminum pinion plates bend to easily and recommend a steel one.

Both i have had are alum, the one that didnt have the seal was alot thinner and bent fairly easy. I bought a thicker one w/ the seal in it at the end of the season and havent got to run it yet. I dont see the thicker ones being that easy to bend. Not only is it thicker it moved the j-bar closer to the pinion so it has less leverage to bend it.

Just my opinion from past experience. Contact to the LR has bent our steel ones. Not saying do what Isay, just offering suggestions from past experience. Good luck with either choice you choose.

I dont remember mine having a snap ring to hold the seal but that looks correct if you are going to run the pinion bracket w/o a seal.(i would suggest getting one w/ a seal as they look much stronger) is this what the bracket you have looks like http://www.ebay.com/itm/OVAL-TRACK-YEAGER-MACHINE-ALUMINUM-QUICK-CHANGE-PINION-MOUNT-/320832976603?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item4ab322b6db&vxp=mtr#ht_1384wt_1063

I use what you linked with this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL60170-Panhard-Bar-Bracket-Quick-Change-Steel-1-2-in-Thick-Has-Five-3-4-/360840430817?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item5403c404e1&vxp=mtr

I run a straight bar, but when i was running a JBAR I just switched it to the other side. Get longer bolts and line it up correctly.

Yeah that one is the same thickness as the one i used and it bends pretty easy.
