I'd like anyone and everyone's perspective about lower a arm bushings. Whether in a mod, pro, or hobby stock. Thank you.

I use a veriation of the AFCO Low Friction bushings. It's a total package, not just one item. Meaning, the bushings alone won't help everything. But using them with low friction ball joints and low friction upper bushings, if used, will help.

Next would be some type of neoprene, and last would OEM type rubber replacements.

Reducing friction and stabilizing the mounts helps to control movement.

Roller brg are best. They have brgs on sides too so u can tighten the bolts as tight as u want Well reason I ask is because I recently came across a car that wins many races. The car has all the things you would want to do to a modified to make it reliable and stout. But the one thing that baffled me was the lowers were either a rubber or urethane material. Now I've never ventured into testing anything else besides solid or bearing lowers but is there a possibility that like the rear suspension having biscuit j bars and energy absorbing pull bars that there may be something in the front end as well?.. I may try this out on our next test day in the dry and will post up results but any input from a reputable chassis builder would be great.

I didn't think you could run roller bearing lower bushings in the imca classes. If you can't run the roller bearing which bushings are the best?

Poly or delrin make good substitutes to steel bushings. If you going the roller bearing route I'd suggest the tapered roller type if there is one. They are designed for the lateral loads.

To make it more clear exactly I'm wondering more about deflection and not the friction of the bushings. Thank you

I don't buy into the cushioning effect of the rubber bushings. I like the bearing ones as long as they are legal where you run. One thing you need to consider though is the bind caused by the flexing of the front end and the caster change through running a flexible bushing. If your front end is light and flexes, a solid bushing may bind more than a rubber. Just a different perspective or food for thought.
