We wanted to expand our partnership this year and use the series as a platform to promote and market our HotRod Tracker product and services in 2014. We felt like it would be a great opportunity to put something together for both the fans and the racers on the opening weekend for the series. We’re very excited about our partnership with Lucas Oil and the racing series and look forward to seeing all the great fans down in Georgia”, stated Ed Mann, President of HotRod Processing.

Golden Isles Speedway continues preparations for what is shaping up to be a huge weekend of racing on Feb 6-8th. “We’re excited to have the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series back here to help us revive the tradition that we started several years ago with the “Super Bowl of Racing”. Having our races on TV in 2014 will surely bring in many of the national stars looking to get some great exposure for their sponsors. We’re thrilled to have Georgia Boot come on board as the title sponsor of the weekend. Having a national company associated with this event is - big with all the cash and prizes that Georgia Boot is offering the great fans that attend. I also want to give a special thanks to HotRod Tracker for putting up the points fund bonus money for the racers and giving them even more money to race for. We also reduced our ticket prices to make it more affordable for all the fans that plan on attending this year and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone at GIS”, stated Frankie Lloyd, owner of GIS.

Anticipation Building for the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing

WAYCROSS, GA (January 16, 2014) – The anticipation and excitement is building as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicks off the 2014 season with the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA. The stars and cars of the LOLMDS are set to invade the 4/10 mile South Georgia speed-plant for three action packed nights of racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 6th, 7th and 8th. There will also be an open practice night on Wednesday February 5th for all divisions.

The only previous visit by the LOLMDS was back in 2008, when the fans witnessed one of the most exciting races ever at Golden Isles Speedway. In that race, four drivers battled for the lead during the
50-Lap feature event, including Scott Bloomquist, Steve Casebolt, Jason Fitzgerald and Earl Pearson Jr. Pearson, who started 7th, would make a last lap pass in dramatic fashion, passing Bloomquist and taking the checkered flag in front of the Lucas Oil TV cameras. The 2008 event is still considered one of the best TV races of all time on the LOLMDS. Lucas Oil Production Studios and TV cameras will be on hand again in 2014 to tape both Friday night and Saturday night’s events for broadcast on the MAVTV American Real Network.

The 2014 edition of the “Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing” is shaping up to be the best ever speed weeks event at GIS. Frankie Lloyd has made several upgrades and improvements throughout the facility since the announcement that the LOLMDS will return this year. GIS has also set the ticket prices for this year’s event at $25 each night for all general admission tickets, with no reserved seating. Golden Isles Speedway accepts credit cards and is taking reservations for Trackside Parking and RV Camping spots. Concrete slabs are available for racers to reserve in the pit areas, with additional secured parking added on the property for spectators attending this year’s event.

The Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing will be packed with activities, vendors and events for fans attending all three days. Georgia Boot will be giving away cash and boots as part of their fan appreciation contest. A Georgia Boot Driver autograph session is scheduled to take place on Saturday, in the vendor midway area, for fans to meet and greet the stars of the LOLMDS. HotRod Tracker will also be in the vendor/midway for fans to register to win a HotRod Tracker device with the winner drawn on Saturday. HotRod Tracker will also post a $2,000 cash bonus to the driver that earns the most points over the three days of racing. ASi Racewear will have their merchandise trailer on the grounds with many new driver shirts and apparel, along with the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing event T-shirts and apparel.

“To say we’re excited to bring the LOLMDS back to South GA and Golden Isles Speedway is an understatement. Being from South Georgia myself, I’m thrilled and eager to see all the great fans from that area and all the traveling fans attending this year’s events at GIS. Frankie Lloyd and his entire staff have been working hard to make this event a great experience for both the racers and the fans. Lucas Oil Products and the Lucas Oil Production Studios are thrilled to bring the TV production crew back to GIS and kick the season off in the great state of Georgia!” stated Ritchie Lewis, Director, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Golden Isles Speedway has partnered with several area hotels to offer discounted rates to fans and racers attending the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing. Fans and racers are encouraged to visit the track website for a listing of all the area hotels and request the GIS rates for that weekend. GIS has announced new times for gates to open. Pit gates will open at 12 PM each day with grandstand gates opening at 3 PM each day. Hot-laps are set to start at 5 PM each day.

Golden Isles Speedway is located on Hwy 82 in Waynesville, GA, just 12 miles west of I-95 at exit 29. For more information about the “Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing", visit the track website at www.goldenislesspeedway.com or call the track office at 912-778-3767.
