Ponderosa Speedway 2013 Celebration of Champions Set for Saturday March 8

Junction City, KY-February 5, 2014- The former Ponderosa Speedway track promotion trio of Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will honor the top drivers from the 2013 racing season with the track’s Celebration of Champions night on Saturday March 8.

The evening’s event’s will take place on Saturday evening March 8 as the 3/8 mile D-Shaped red clay track better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” will present its 2013 Celebration of Champions awards banquet that will honor the top ten drivers in track points in each of the track’s four respective divisions for the 2013 season.

Also on hand for the evening will be the new track promoter at Ponderosa Speedway for the 2014 racing season, Jerry Denson. Mr. Denson will be in attendance to meet and greet with the racers and fans that attend the awards night and to discuss and answer any questions regarding the upcoming racing season.

The 2013 Celebration of Champions activities will take place on Saturday March 8 and will be held at the American Legion in Stanford, KY, which is located at 909 East Main Street, just off of Cordier Road on KY HWY 78. The dress for the event is casual. Admission for the evening’s events will be $10 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free.

The events of the evening will include a social hour and meal, followed by the recognition of the top ten drivers in the track’s Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model, Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Model, Bluegrass Drug Store Modified, and D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman divisions. The top ten drivers in track points in each division will be recognized during the ceremony, with the drivers finishing in the top five in points in each division receiving awards. The evening will conclude with the crowning of the Ponderosa Speedway 2013 track champions in all four divisions.

Activities for the 2013 Ponderosa Speedway Celebration of Champions awards banquet will see honored drivers, guests, and track patrons allowed to begin to enter the American Legion hall beginning at 5:00 p.m for social, with the meal served beginning at 6:00 p.m., while the celebration of champions and awards ceremony will begin immediately following the meal. The deadline to RSVP for the 2013 Ponderosa Speedway Celebration of Champions is 5:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon March 1. At this time, there have been only a few RSVP's and if there is not enough interest shown, the planned activities for March 8 (Celebration of Champions) may be cancelled. The Yantz family (last year's promoters) will make a decision about this event after 5:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Thanks.
