Ponderosa Speedway 2013 Celebration of Champions Cancelled; 2014 Season Opener April 5
Junction City, KY-March 1, 2014- Former Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz have cancelled the scheduled 2013 Celebration of Champions that was scheduled for Saturday March 8 due to a lack of interest.
Only six of the drivers that finished in the top ten in track points between the track’s four weekly divisions had confirmed they were going to be in attendance, plus only a few family members and children, the decision was made to cancel the banquet ceremony due to a lack of interest.
However, the top five drivers in each division will still receive their awards as the Yantz family will present these awards to those drivers at the 2014 Ponderosa Speedway season opening event on Saturday April 5.
The new promotional tenure of Jerry Denson will begin with an open practice at Ponderosa Speedway on Saturday afternoon March 29. The 2014 season opening event will take on Saturday April 5 and will see the 42nd Annual Season Opening event feature Super Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Sportsman, and Pure Streets.
