View Full Version : Inaugural $10,000 To Win North Carolina Modified Nationals Set For March 20th – 22nd

(Middlebourne, WV) Winter has been painfully stubborn this year but that makes the countdown till March 20th that much sweeter for the biggest event in Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts history! Just six weeks from today the tour is set to launch its third year campaign at an all new touring venue but one that boasts an impressive modified resume, the County Line Raceway in Elm City, NC. Anticipation is trending up at a rapid rate as the tour gets set to pay its first ever five figure event winner. As a result twenty two early entries from six different states have already mailed their intentions into the Renegade of Dirt offices vying for the shot at over $45,000 dollars in purse. The 3/8 mile red clay oval in anxiously waiting the Renegade of Dirt’s invasion during the inaugural “North Carolina Modified Nationals” on March 20-22, 2014. Fans can expect to see the entire explosive lineup of Renegade regulars, a large group of regional contenders, and the famous County Line regulars…a mix sure to provide plenty of fireworks upon their arrival.

When action gets underway on Thursday March 20th participants will be given the opportunity to shake down their rides in an evening of Test N’ Tune. However, on Friday the long awaited first competitive laps of 2014 will be turned. The entire field will split up and run two complete/separate $1,000 to win, $100 to start preliminaries that will give at least forty racers the opportunity to race in an A-Main. Pill draw will be utilized in setting up the two groups and the heat race line-ups. The tours new ‘passing points’ format will then be utilized to qualify cars for the main event and their respective dash events. The highest two cars in passing points from each heat will be rewarded the opportunity to run the XSAN “Dash For Cash” to earn their spots for the main event. The dash will be lined up based on total passing points from all of the dash qualifiers, most to least. The cars who fail to transfer out of their heat races will be placed in a B-Main and lined up based on passing points, most to least. Once in the B-Main the transfers to the A-Main will be determined by finishing order, first to last, and the number of transfers.

On Saturday night action will continue as the racers will return to the “Little Track Making Big Noise” for a follow up performance, this time with record setting ten grand on the line. Racers will qualify in groups of 10-12 cars who they qualify with will remain their group through the heat races, the fastest overall time will pull the invert pill after the heats 0, 2, 3, or 4. Upon the completion of heat races, winners will redraw for starting spots for the lineup in the feature, non-transfer cars will have to go through B-Mains in order to transfer into the A-Main. The highest two finishing cars from each represented state that does not transfer into the main event will then be placed in the $750 to win, $120 to start, “Race of the States” feature event, the lineup for it will be based entirely on pill draw. The $10,000 to win “North Carolina Nationals” A-Main will be 40 laps in distance, racers will be allowed to enter a designated ‘hot pit’ but will be unable to take fuel and re-enter the track. Tires, body work, and troubleshooting is all the will be permitted. Entry forms are also available and must be mailed to EDGE P.O. Box 475, Middlebourne, WV 26149 by March 7th to receive the $25.00 discount on entry. Racers who do not pre-enter can still register at the event, just will not receive the $25.00 advanced entry discount. County Line Raceway is a 3/8 mile clay oval located at 6953 Stagecoach Road in Elm City, N.C. The track has been in operation since May 21st, 1988. County Line Raceway is a family run track, currently being managed by James Upchurch and Brenda Holcombe.
