Mother Nature Halts 10th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic at Clarksville Speedway

Clarksville, TN- March 8, 2014- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series kicked off its 2014 racing campaign on Saturday evening at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN as part of the track’s 10th Annual Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic, but Mother Nature had other ideas for being able to complete the evening’s as rain showers moved over the track and prompted the postponement of the remainder of the event.

As the Super Late Model was on the track, light rain showers that had been falling began to pick up in intensity and with 11 laps completed in that event, track officials had to throw the caution flag due to the track becoming unsafe. Steady rain showers continued to fall for a brief time period and the track surface was totally lost, leaving Clarksville Speedway track officials with no other option but to postpone the remainder of the event. Clarksville Speedway has stated they would notify officials with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series on Thursday (March 13) of the date that the event will be completed.

In preliminary action, Jimmy Payne would be the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 44 entries at 13.853 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Lucas Lee, while Allen Weisser scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three went to Clayton Miller, with Trent Young winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four. The Stealth Racewear B-Mains were won by Rusty Griffaw and Roy Bruce, Jr. Series provisional starting spots went to Ricky Tinch and Rocky Wilson, while Cody Bauman was the track provisional.

The next scheduled event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is set to take place on Saturday March 29 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN as part of the track’s 2nd Annual Spring Nationals. The event will be 35 laps in distance, paying $3,000 to win and $225 to start.
