As much as it pains me to say it, this past weekend was doomed to be a failure from the start. Why in the world no one watched the weather forecast before digging up the track and pits before the front came in on Thursday is beyond explanation. Then to let the track just sit there until 3 pm on raceday was ridiculous. I will give you guys some credit though, when you did finally decide to fix things, you managed to get enough equipment to make the best out of a bad sitution. However, when it came feature time for the crates, the people officiating the race must have taken a nap, because that was one of the worst called features EVER. To start with, it was stated during the drivers meeting, caution laps would count for the 1st 30 laps, not 40. Then, how many cautions were called, with everyone getting their spot back, the wrong person going to the rear, or who ever created the biggest fuss getting to move up on the next restart? Not to mention the screw job done to Rambo. (Sorry but the 3 car clearly spun first and that was a horrible call.) And what's up with Travis Pennington getting so many positions under caution? He never passed a car all night and finished 3rd? And last, the caution came out on lap 55. The flagman had just finished giving the sign to the field and not all the cars completed a lap. The announcer even stated there were 5 laps remaining. Then after several attempts to get back going, the race is ended with a green and white one lap shootout? What happened to the other 4 laps? This was my first trip to Modoc, and needless to say it won't be forgotten anytime soon, but not for the reasons I had hoped.
