Southern All Star/Jimmy Thomas Memorial Set For East Alabama March 29th
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action for round #2 of the 2014 season this Saturday night at the East Alabama Motor Speedway located in Phenix City, AL., for the Jimmy Thomas Memorial 40 paying $4,000 to win for the 40 lap event.
Defending Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Champion Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., captured the opening race of the season last weekend at Boyds Speedway and will be in action this weekend at East Alabama along with Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., Joe Armistead Jr of Senoia, GA., Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS., William Thomas, Phenix City, AL., Cale Finley of Athens, AL., Mark Gant of Savannah, TN., David Seibers of Petersburg, TN., Jake Knowles, of Tyrone, GA., Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL., Lavon Sparks of Phenix City, AL., Dana Eiland of Phenix City, AL., Russell Brown Jr of Valdosta, GA., Kenny Collins of Colbert, GA., and J R Moseley of Columbus, GA., are expected to be in action this weekend.
This will be the Southern All Stars fifth appearance at the 3/8ths mile facility in series history dating back to 1984. Jonathan Davenport, Chris Madden & Shane Clanton took series wins in 2013.
Pit gates will open at 2 pm EDT, with technical inspection to start around 3 pm, grandstands open at 4 pm and hot laps are set to begin at 7:30 pm. The Southern All Stars part of the program will consist of White Performance Group qualifying with the top 8 locked in, with the remaining positions filled by PPM Racing Products B Mains, and the last two spots are SAS provisionals one from last years points standings and one from this years points standings. Plus there will also be a full EAMS racing program.
