i have a block that was decked to much. 8.935 with the parts i have on hand and this just needs to be a good back up engine what do you think about this combo. 3.875 crank 5.850 rods with 1.131 pistons with the deck of this block it will put the pistons in the hole .025 or so. every thing will clear but we are just worried about the piston speed with this combo. and what would it do to the HP or torque. thanks for any info.

piston speed is ok about a 1.144 CH that is about .004 in the hole the intake will have to be cut way down to on the heads we run some on a 5.850 rods with a 8.855 deck height and 3.750 stroke rpm about 8,500 to 8,800

Might try a 3.75 w/6in rod w/ 1.062 c/h and used a thicker head gasket to get quench right.

ive got one i'm building that is at 8.970 that i'm gonna use a 3.8 w/ 6in rod and 1.062 c/h.

Did it not get into the water pump holes?
