Whats everyone having to shim theses springs to get the correct installed heights? Are they consistant or all over the place?

the bulk of new engines will take a 15 under the intake and a 20 under the exhaust-------about 1 in 20 will take some 30's here and there----but in all cases you should check the dimension with accurate measuring equipment before adding shims

there is no way to estimate used engines as there are too many factors to influence installed height

from what I am seeing so far----you should easily be able to run 40 races on a set of springs

we most definatly still recommend that the valve covers be pulled weekly and inspect everything including the spring------there is no need to take anything apart just look around-------we know of 2 cases where the top coil has broken off of the new style spring so special attention should be focused there also look at keepers, retainers and rockers-----give the engine a tap on the sarter and look some more.

hope that helps
