(CHARLOTTE, NC - April 21, 2014) After an exciting debut at Cherokee, the FUEL Racing Series heads north this Saturday to Friendship Speedway for a highly anticipated event at the recently reconfigured track. It will be the first of three scheduled stops at Friendship, as inaugural winner Brett Hamm leads a highly talented roster of drivers to the Elkin, North Carolina venue. "I really think this is going to be an exciting event", stated Series Director Jason Atkins. "Friendship offers action packed racing and they have very passionate fans. Some additional banking was added in the offseason and the racing should be quite interesting this weekend." "The fans at Friendship have been talking about this event ever since we scheduled it", explained FMS promoter Michael Tesh. "I truly believe in FUEL and the potential that the series holds. Mike Brown and I are working hard to make this the best event of the season and we look forward to an exciting night of racing this weekend." Though Hamm was impressive at Cherokee, Friendship will offer he and several of the other drivers a much different challenge. Veteran Billy Hicks has tons of experience to rely on as he looks to overtake Hamm in the championship standings. Ross Bailes, the runner-up at Cherokee, picked up the SECA pro late model win this weekend at Friendship and looks to ride that momentum this coming weekend. Ricky Weeks, Donald Bradsher, and Ryan Atkins are among the other drivers that have numerous laps at the 3/8 mile oval. A full night racing is scheduled as Friendship will have many of their exciting support divisions, including the SECA pro late models, in action. The night is scheduled to get underway shortly after the 6PM Drivers Meeting.
