Georgia is on Our Mind - The Carolina Clash series has been to racetracks in SC, NC, VA, and TN since 2010, but it has been since 2009 since the tour crossed over into the Peach State of Georgia.

For the first time since 2010, the Carolina Clash drivers have “Georgia on Their Mind” as we cross the state line into Screven County, Georgia, to the beautiful flatlands of the lower Savannah River plain – to Sylvania, Georgia, where one of the best kept secrets in motorsports is nestled between a music concert arena, kart track, a drag strip, a mud bog and the biggest and most impressive concession facility in all of racing – Screven Motor Speedway.

Mr. James, “Big Redd”, Griffin welcomes the Carolina Clash to Screven for the first time since October 2010. Even then, that event was designated as a “Clash South” event, a series that never gained momentum and eventually merged back into Carolina Clash.

The track is located at 6118 Savannah Hwy, Sylvania, GA 30467. Track phone: (912) 857-4884. For more information, visit www.screvenmotorsportscomplex.com .

The top fifteen drivers who register for the required number of races will be eligible to contend for the series $10,000 championship.
To date, Jonathan Davenport and Brandon Overton have finished first and second in the first two races.

Closely behind, is a relatively new face on tour and a veteran who is looking to have his best season ever - Kyle Pierce of Statesville, NC and Scott Shirey of Swansea, SC. Pierce, the 2013 Ed Gibbons Memorial Sportsmanship Award winner and driver of the Tilley Harley-Davidson of Salisbury and Statesville, NC/Wolfpack Rocket racecar, is currently third in points after two very solid top five runs.

Pierce is sporting a very sporty blue paint scheme for the season. Shirey has a fourth place finish and the Safety-Kleen Hard Charger of the Race Award at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. Shirey, who runs the #10 Shirey Towing and Earl’s Performax Automotive machine of West Columbia, SC, is fourth in points.

Anthony Sanders, aka “Big A”, who is famous for his excellence in artistic skills in decals and design graphics in motorsports, is joined with Johnny Pursley, the 2013 point runner up, in a tie for 5th place. Pursley operates the Pursley Grading and Construction operation in Clover, SC and hopes to begin bulldozing his way to the winner’s circle in the next few events.

Zack Mitchell (aka “Kid Quick”) is tied for seventh in points with 2013 champion Dennis Franklin, while Kennie Compton and Jonathan Edwards are tied for ninth. The rest of the top 15 in points include Tim Allen, Luke Roffers, Mike Gault, Kevin Wilson, and Doug Sanders.

Georgia - Alabama & Florida SLM stars will be waiting May 3rd
