(CHARLOTTE, NC - APRIL 30, 2014) - With two exciting events already under its belt in the 2014 season, the FUEL Racing Series heads to Wythe Raceway this weekend for a highly anticipated showdown at one of the nation's most historic dirt tracks. For over 45 years the popular high banked 1/2 mile venue has delivered some of the most intriguing and competitive racing that our sport has ever seen. Ross Bailes, riding the momentum of his victory this past weekend at Friendship, leads a talented group of drivers into battle this weekend at Wythe. "Visiting Fred Brown and the Wythe Raceway family is always a treat", explained FUEL Series Director Jason Atkins. "Their staff does an amazing job with track preparation and they are excellent at facilitating both weekly and special event races. Wythe offers high speed racing with multiple lanes for the competitors to choose from. It is unlike any track we have visited this year and I look forward to seeing how our racers adapt to it this coming weekend." Bailes enters this weekend's event atop the FUEL Championship Standings. Jason Pack, Brett Hamm, and Donald Bradsher are in pursuit of the leader amidst their own battle for the runner-up spot. Billy Hicks, Ricky Weeks, and several others are looking to make their way back into championship contention. This weekend's showdown at Wythe will complete FUEL's early season swing in three different states. Will Bailes or Hamm get their 2nd victory of the season or will FUEL see its 3rd different winner in as many races? Those questions and many more will be answered this Saturday night under the lights at Wythe Raceway! This weekend's action is set to get underway with the FUEL Racing Series drivers meeting at 6PM. Racing action is scheduled to begin thereafter with the FUEL Racing Series and several of Wythe Raceway's action packed weekly divisions.
