CARTERSVILLE, GA – North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL has aligned with the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies for the remainder of the 2014 season. North Alabama Speedway Promoter Wayne Burns has noticed the growing popularity of the Division and knew it would be a good thing for the track.
Street Stock competitors at North Alabama Speedway will now have the opportunity to not only compete for a track point fund, but also a National point fund against drivers at 12 other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock sanctioned track. The $5,000 point fund will pay the 2014 National Champion $2,000 and will also pay back through the top ten spots in the point standings.
North Alabama Speedway has also signed up for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for Late Models. Both NeSmith Racing Divisions will begin at North Alabama Speedway this Saturday night.
Drivers that race at NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 28. Although the season is going into its sixth week of competition, North Alabama Speedway Street Stock competitors still have plenty of time to get their 14 weeks in.
The North Alabama Speedway Street Stock drivers will also have a grace period to use up their tires from the old track tire rule until June 15, 2014. After June 15, all NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock competitors at North Alabama Speedway must be on the Hoosier H-500 tire. The NeSmith/AR Bodies rules are available online at www.nesmithracing.com.
