What weight should be used

We use Pennzoil 20w50. I am aware that is not the specified lubricant recommended by Winters, but we have absolutely no problems. Have been using it for years. There are others using the same without any problems. Just some food for thought.

Redline Shock Proof Heavyweight. You can go a whole season on the same oil and it will still test very close to how it was new. We run in in our quick changes and 9 inch rearend and have never had any rearend failures ever since we started using it.

It is expensive per quart, but you do not have to change it through the year, so overall it comes to equal cost or cheaper than conventional lubes.

I like Amsoil. Filter it every change with a paint funnel to keep trash out and the oil will work for a long time.

We always ran Valvoline synthetic 75/90 since we were running 20-30 lap features. Fairly cheap and never had a gear failure or bearing issue. Can find it at most parts stores and some discount outlet type stores.
