Duck River, Boyd’s, and Dixie will Complete Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series on May 8-10

(May 3, 2014) The final three races on the 10-event Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series by Schaeffer’s Oil mini-tour will wrap up on May 8, 9, & 10 in Tennessee and Georgia. The series will roll into three exciting race tracks for the final leg of the tour. The Bob Harris-owned Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tenn. will play host to Round # 8 of the series on Thursday Night May 8th paying $4,000-to-win. In an exciting battle last season, Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y. picked up the $4,000 check.

On Friday Night May 9th the series will compete during Round # 9 at the David Duplissey and Dale McDowell owned Boyd’s Speedway located in Ringgold, Ga. The series will compete for a 40-lap $4,000-to-win event at the track located on Exit One on the Tennessee-Georgia border. During last year’s inaugural series visit, Vic Hill of Mosheim, Tenn. picked up the $4,000 payday.

The final points championship event # 10 on the tour will take place on Saturday Night May 10th at the Swims Family owned Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. The event will be a 50-lap $6,000-to-win payday and the Championship hardware will also be presented that night. During the 2013 series visit, Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind. took the $6,000 payday en route to the series championship, which he would claim a week later in a rain-delayed event at Boyd’s Speedway.

Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn. leads the point standings by just 34 markers over Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., Stacy Boles of Clinton, Tenn. and David Payne of Murphy, N.C. round out the top-five in the point standings. There have been six different winners in the seven races ran so far.

On Thursday Night May 8th the Gates will open at 3:00 pm and the Driver’s Meeting is slated for 6:30 pm and hot laps set for 7:00 pm CST at Duck River Raceway Park. The 2-Barrel Late Models, Crate Late Models, Pure/Street Stock and the Pure Pony class will also be on the racing card for the evening. Adult General Admission is $20.00 and an Adult Pit pass is $35.00. On Friday Night May 9th at Boyd’s Speedway the Gates will open at 4:00 pm, the driver’s meeting will be at 6:30 pm and hot laps begin at 7:00 pm EST. The Crate Late Models, A-Hobby, B-Hobby and Pony/FWD divisions will provide support on the evening’s racing card. Adult General Admission is $17.00 with Adult Pit Passes being $30.00. A reminder to teams that Mufflers are mandatory, the SCH112530 and SCH112535 are required and no Dirt Pro Mufflers are allowed per track rules. More information can be viewed on the track’s website on their rules page. Borla, Flomaster, Hushpower and the track’s Schoenfeld mufflers are all legal.

On Saturday Night May 10th at Dixie Speedway, the pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm and hot laps will roll out at 6:30 pm EST. The Econo Bombers, Super Bombers, Pony Stocks, Street Cruisers, Crate Late Models and Steel Head Late Models will be the support divisions for the event. Adult General Admission is $20.00 with the Tailgate/Trackside section being $25.00 and Adult Pit Passes $30.00. Dixie Speedway is located at 150 Dixie Drive in Woodstock, GA. The series will utilize the Hoosier 1350, 1600 & LM40 plus the American Racer 48, 56 compounds for all three races. Only these compounds will be allowed on all four corners.
